ATTORNEY J. DOUGLAS FARRELL

Douglas Farrell was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1992. Mr. Farrell was a partner in the law firm of Stewart, McArdle, Sorice, Whalen, Farrell, Finoli & Cavanaugh, LLC, located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania where he practiced in the areas of family law, divorce mediation, estate planning and administration, real estate and personal injury from 1992 to 2023.

In 2023, Mr. Farrell formed Farrell Law, LLC to concentrate his practice in family law matters including divorce, custody and child support, divorce mediation and estate planning and estate administration.

Mr. Farrell has applied his firsthand experience in traditional divorce litigation by representing his clients in equitable distribution, alimony, child and spousal support, and custody hearings and trials.  Mr. Farrell also has mediated domestic disputes for individuals to dissolve their marriage without resorting to litigation.

On a regular basis, the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania appoint Mr. Farrell as a divorce master to hear some of the most complex equitable distribution cases in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.  Mr. Farrell has applied his knowledge in the area of family law and his mediation skills to assist counsel and the parties to effectuate amicable resolutions to these cases without the parties resorting to extensive litigation.

Mr. Farrell has lectured and presented at such training programs and orientation programs on the benefits of divorce mediation.

Mr. Farrell completed a 40 hour mediation training course sponsored by the Federal Bar Association that was held at the U.S. District Courthouse for the Western District of Pennsylvania located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; completed training in Collaborative Law; and completed an additional 40 hour mediation training program in Florida where he received certification as a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator.

As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, Mr. Farrell also offers mediation services to divorcing couples in Naples, Florida and the surrounding communities of Collier and Lee Counties.

Mr. Farrell offers mediation services to residents of both Pennsylvania and Florida.

Mr. Farrell also offers estate planning and estate administration service by providing Last Will and Testaments, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills for his clients.  Since 1992 Mr. Farrell has drafted many estate documents, including but not limited to, Last Will and Testaments, Power of Attorneys and Living Wills and has handled numerous estates for the families  of Westmoreland County.
